For your listening pleasure we have released a mini album from Moscow IDM producer PiXtaR. This author started to take an interest in experimental music in 1997. He developed as a musician under the influence of such music collectives as “Future Sound Of London”, “Orb” and “Yello”. Compositions from this release have different moods which are filled with details and traits forming altogether a very interesting sound. Your invited to hear a story consisting of well thought-out rhythm sections and dynamic travels. This entire audio portrait rivets the listener’s attention and makes them want to take a closer look into this new sound environment. Diversity in the music is accompanied by accuracy, derived from the creative ideas of the author’s mind and well implemented as music pieces. The release is a must-hear for all IDM connoisseurs.
Another full-length LP released by Mixgalaxy Records acquaints the listeners with one very interesting author, who works both with music and graphical art. Kirill Kara-Banchuk belongs to Russian idm flow. Being an expert in sound abstractions and experiments, as well as a talented minimalist artist he makes some kind of synthesis of inner images difficult for perception and interpretation, transferring them into sounds and sharing a part of his rich and individual inward with listeners. Moods, atmosphere, tracks order and the album design are one big picture, resembling a road or ascend from darker deeps into the light, what was represented in the booklet.
Music is accompanied by one video clip, visually demonstrating ideas giving start to the entire album. Dismal, black and white pictures, lonesome figures, pressing walls and overall estrangement perfectly illustrate the first track and prepare the listener for sinking into this very powerful and oppressive atmosphere, which weighs upon him in the first half of an album and changes into more comfortable and warmer sound environment as the release moves towards the end. Strong conception and solid realization provides striking impression on the lovers of genres such as idm, experimental and others of that kind.
Hatori Yumi plays form, blip, click and granular noises.
The Yumi’s sounds are influenced by Alva Noto and all Raster-Noton’s artists and by Ryuichi Sakamoto’s piano compositions. He loves the contemporary classical composer, too.
He did an EP, “Muted”, with NakedNoisesNetlabel and partecipated to “Manifesto” compilation, for the portoghese label, Feedbackloop. He based “Brusio” a new experimental netlabel born in Italy.
Now, he’s working on new project called “Rhegma” where the music and the videos show the discontinuity of his sounds. Read the rest of this entry »
On March 1, 2008, came to light Rawmatroid, an electronic music netlabel created for share freely and for free over the Internet. Since the publication of our first EP, it’s been 2 years of good teamwork, of bringing together young artists and of pursuing little dreams. 24 months thar were long enough for much and where have converged 11 references, a dozen producers, 3 graphic designers, 2 visual artists, and 2 showcases where people could enjoy and have fun with the magic of Rawmatroid live.
Today we celebrate these 2 years in a very special way: collecting a series of tracks that show the spirit that we want to transmit from this netlabel. We talk about music without hang-ups, independent, personal and creative that can be shared and enjoyed in the absence of prejudice. 18 tracks with 18 different perspectives, in which each of the artists that make up this VVAA shows their own personal understanding of electronic music.
Today, 2 years later, in Rawmatroid we continue with the same enthusiasm with which we started the project, and with even more desire to continue to share good music with the world. To the musicians, listeners, websites, designers, photographers, visual artists, clubs… and all of those who in some way or another way are part of and you believe in Rawmatroid: Many thanks! We keep going.
