Debut release from UK/Berlin-based musician Preslav Literary School.
Directly inspired by early Jim O’Rourke recordings, the piece is
composed from a series of delayed tape sounds, reversed drones and field
recordings as well as from material extracted from open sources
including ringtones by Carsten Nicolai.

Recording sonic experiments, spoken word, birdsong and drones onto
cassette tapes and dictaphones, Preslav Literary School mixes these
sources live with other found sound (including material from lofts,
abandoned buildings and the sides of roads) to create layered
soundscapes which recontextualise the original material into new
improvised compositions. Recorded live for Resonance FM, his third
album, pretext/context, has just been released on GFDM Records.

Preslav Literary School has played performances in a wide range of
settings including at Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, mima,
University of Sunderland, Stray Signals Festival, Winter Weekend
Festival, Gallery Glue and has recently supported Crevecouer and Little
Pebble (Fence Collective). Adam recently completed a sound-art
commission for Locator Art Festival 08 and is relocating to Berlin in
June to record a new album.

litmus0001 embarks on another journey to dark and beautiful corners of submental dischordian situationist impressionism with his 15th album and first Clinical Archives release, “stillorgan road”. This album, recorded and composed in the middle of a particularly long Wisconsin winter, contains six new pieces of moody lush atmospheric wide-space ambient soundscapes generated through experimental improvisation and informed with a relentless shoegazer aesthetic.

Jonathan Ewald has recorded and performed as litmus0001 since 2001. He gets strange and lovely sounds from instruments you wouldn’t expect to sound like that. He uses things like knives and chains and alligator clips and bamboo sticks on bass strings. He does things like put a contact mic on a big tin box that used to contain cheap Thai cookies, and beats the daylights out of it in front of an amp to counterpoint percussion and feedback. He improvises spacey arpeggios and plays with sliders and knobs. He runs it all through a few well chosen effects pedals and liveloops. He is influenced by many musicians, composers, artists and philosophers from diverse traditions and genres.

After the successfull Netlabel start of Anneke with the release “The Hip Back” on auflegware (alw016), here is the second step of the Berlin based talent.

This Release plays the typical duby emotional sound of the artist. The opening track “Simms dub” is a very experimentel track with unplugged instruments, for example bass-guitar and saxophon. Smulgh and Plow are slowly dubtech tunes, it creates an deep emotional atmospheric sprit.

But not enough, there are massive remix support from Thomas Marlow (Enliven). He gives us his typical bongolized touch of the track “Plouw”. The other remix comes from Jano Brook with a pumping club version of Simms Dub.

This is a compilation of some of the earliest works of the Wounded Healer released 2005-6 under different artist names. The soundlanguage is personal. Caracteristically is the tensional chords that creates soundvisions and feelings of a surrealistic art.
The songs on this album are very different and can not be boxed, they go from almost classical to avant garde and experimental, from the very personal to the universal. From clean and pure to dirty and distorted. They are spirit travellings into realms of the human spirits dimensions.

The Wounded Healer is a composer and musician rooted in the mystical tradition of spirituality. He senses that much of his music is canalized from a deeper reality and by that it is able to give the listener a glimpse and inspiration of his own deeper being.

segue - a glass darkly

Segue is Jordan Sauer from Vancouver, Canada. His sound is a patchwork of textures and tones with a focus on the interplay of timbre. These sounds are created through the blending of various instruments (12-string guitar, piano, violin, melodica, glockenspiel, various percussive instruments) and incidental found sounds.

His recent release “a glass darkly” is an absolutly beautiful, meditative and touching piece of music. Haunting melodies, guitar- and piano-miniatures, fieldrecordings, string-drones are blended together carefully to a 22-minute expedition into a deep sea, a unknown forest or a pristine clearing just before sunset. Every sound evolves slowly from a little bud to a magical blossom, which fades away to become another flower again.

A constant evolution, giving you the feeling of warmth, depth and oneness.

Morelush mystery from Stig Inge , this German tech-producer second creation picks up very much where the debut but more on a darker danceable side.
Rhythmic in structure with deep bass grounded in dub, breaks and 4/4 beats of the modern electro-dance floor, calling old ’80.The digital patterns and textures of club music are still detectable for those with sharp enough ears.
Hole EP carrying clear-cut recognizable artist sound and some minimalist, bubbling themes. Ominous but still beautiful; a minor distraction of darkling beetle, otherwise intriguing release.
