Star Machine is the second single culled from Mystics, the latest album by ESL Music’s Ursula 1000. This p-funk electro house monster features the funkafied voice and thumb thumping bass action from New York jazz/electronic producer Mocean Worker. The remix by Bellani & Spada tweaks the original into mega big room dance floor destruction, slaying clubs and festivals when dropped.

The Skizzo Franick remix was the winner of the FOEM remix contest done for Star Machine and Skizzo reworks it into a big, shiny glitter ball of disco funkiness. The EP with the runners up will come out on FOEM soon.

This Co. is a Chilean band that combines Post-Punk and New Wave into a hybrid between rock and electronic. Thanks to its particular sound and meticulously designed stage show it creates an intense experience.
The band was formed initially under the name Macanudo as a duel of guitars and electronic bases by Jorge Christie and Nicolás Rebolledo (Chileno Medio). With the incorporation of Carlos Vergara (Federación de Boxeo, Crack) on the bass, the band began to call themselves This Co. and to consolidate, with new songs and a more mature sound, that which had already been started.
In 2007 This Co. played the principal stages of the local scene, presenting with Nouvelle Vague at the EIMA festival and also at the Cada Canción Una Historia cycle, that received a very good mention in Rolling Stone magazine.
The 2008 launch of their self-titled debut earned the support of the specialized and the general public. Various songs on the album have been remixed by Garbo, El Sueño de la Casa Propia (E.S.D.L.C.P.) and Fiat 600. This same year, with the incorporation of Cristián Aranda (Federación de Boxeo, Crack) on the drums presented with The Twelves in Kubix and launched the video of their single “As you know” preselected as one of the 10 most resquested on MTV.
Recently and with new songs in their repertoire, This Co. toured Europe and played in Barcelona, Weimar and Berlin on July 2009, in four excellent presentations that confirmed the international projections of the band.

In what could be an early contender for one of 2010’s finest so far, Lean Horse Marathon unleashes these blissful seven tracks onto us all. Here we get to listen to Lean Horse Marathon at his enthralling and delicate best, lush harmonies, swirling rhythms, and enticing melodies that will surely draw you into a dreamlike state.

Sounding like a condensed Windy & Carl, or a less poppy Landing, these tracks have a unity which fit like a glove. Listening in part does not seem to do this the justice that it deserves.

There are elements from earlier releases that still exist – a strong folk vibe, and an earthy feel flow through this releases veins, at times reminiscent of Microphones, but whereas previous releases may have had a number of “singles”, this is definitely more of an album-album. A provocative and enchanting release that is sure to win many new fans.

When gazing upon your world map, it might strike you as spectacular how the sounds of the Berlin underground can trickle all the way to Krasnoyarsk, Russia. Taking into consideration our knowledge of the modern, network- connected planet, it is of course not the same sensation. Still, one can’t avoid wondering if the massive amount of land in between hasn’t given flavor to the ones and zeros streaming through the pipelines in order to reconnect as digital audio in the other end.

When playing out Just So Simple, focusing your ears beyond the sharp synthetic beats and the dark deep bass, you can’t escape the echoes of unending Siberian pine forests, sparkling rivers, majestic ice-covered mountain ranges and abandoned Soviet era concrete cities. Audioteka plugged their laptops into the leftover equipment of a Cosmonaut space station and streamed the output through a state of the art night club speaker system. This is a recording from the other end of the neighbouring plains. Aimed straight for your heart. Open it up.
