[ND015] Broken – Tonto’s Expanding Labyrinth

TRACKLIST

1. A Whole New Box
2. Twisted Faith……….yours at WHATPEOPLEPLAYor BEATPORT

Press

We have heard what this man is capable of as a solo artist on our last E.P, now he has finally secured a long awaited release of his own. Broken maintains his trademark sound of loose percussion and solid punchy rhythms throughout the release. The whole vibe and idea for this ep was that of years gone by and of trippy almost psychedelic inspirations from the 60′s and 70′s, fused with a modern upfront sound that’s moving the dance floors worldwide at the moment.

A Whole New Box sets off with an assortment of hand slapped percussion and sweeping filters which all make much more sense once the bouncing bass line and kick roll into the mix. A vocal sample is intricately worked that appears and disappears underneath an already abstract melody, proving there is never a dull moment in this track, looking to titillate and often challenge the listeners whilst keeping the energy rock solid.

The flip side is an alternate take on an anthem led by a loose but just right arpeggio, this track meanders through a series of twists and turns. Twisted Faith keeps a cool energy level throughout by the subtle use of nuance and small changes in the feeling and atmosphere. Heavy use of FX reinforce the breaks creating a clean cut through the modern production. This release offers a change in style and direction bringing in new influences, sounds and exciting new possibilities.

Support…..Federico Grazzini, Brett Johnson, Tiger Stripes, Pawas, Danny Howells, Desyn Masiello, Guy J, Dave Seaman, Christian Smith, Andrew Grant

Well, with our world in a dire state, one hopes to add to the clarity of the subject without becoming a fascist too. And so we have a decided leaning towards personal transformation to achieve this end.

The evening. It rains. Commercial on TV.
My flash is singing for me as Michael Jackson
What flowers will grow in this fruitful ground?
And how much sap will suck out from me this sick-making beauty?
My flash is singing for me.
It blossoms, it changes it`s color like Brussels sprouts.
It smells, it`s becoming violet than turquoise and suddenly indigo.
My flash shows me cartoons and I’m laughing.
It grows as cancerous growth it`s tender hands smell with apricot it embraces me ad kisses my cheek.

YERSINIA PESTIS WEBSITE

Yersinia Pestis – YP002

Available for free digital download.

The second release on YERSINIA PESTIS, brought to you by RDR, features a full lenght, recorded-in-one-go, mindfucking & surreal expression of whats more than hidden in todays status-quo in regards to art-forms.

An hour long album lurking in a soundscape of degenerated and agressive tones, indulging mostly on the deep and self-threatening industrial side.

Guitars, overdriven hardware, incomprehensible vocals and a whole lot of metallic decadence.

Check it out now! A real gem for such a little island with virtually no culture on the more industrial and obscure genres!

tracklist:

03 l-labar tal-fotoni
04 u tibbalzmani fl-istorja

about yersinia pestis:

yersinia pestis is an experimental netlabel project by revolt.destroy.reform. the main focus of the netlabel, is to release pieces of music without revealing the identity of its composer. therefore, major focus is on the piece of music before the listener and not on the image projected by its composing artist; so to kill every form of prejudice. this gives a fair opportunity to the new and old artists to expose their work without any unecessary or premature prejudice, leaving space for experimentation and innovation.

[INQ012] Julien Mier – Have Courage Funny Thing

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

EP title: Julien Mier – Have Courage Funny Thing

Date: October 8, 2009
Cat.#: INQ012

Review: Julien Mier continues to grow in his music, already with the 3rd EP provided, which has been released on three independant labels (“Lomechanik“, “BumpFoot” and “INQB8R”) at once. Only using some very subtle equalisation and filtering, and probably some new knowledge from his courses of Hilversum’s Music School, this time Julien has built a really unique sound boat, which is about everything you may see and keep in your head, and which will give no annoying second of listening to it. It’s a very eclectic choice of tracks and composition, once again confirming that Julien doesn’t like “to sound like…”, and his thirst of diversity, which is also the point of every INQB8R release. These recordings may be called “pure electronica”, because they are still based on loops and mixing various sources together, but which already include live guitars, synths, environmental recordings and voice. If an experimental recording could be tuned up with mainstream elements, providing a listening interest to a really wide auditory without leaving the independant room, here it is: a tripping journey into Love.

As we know, Julien tried to submit this recording to the giant indie publisher “Morr”, but they denied it. Cock of the walk, babies, we’re happy you’ve kept the real art free for us! ;)

Possible Definition: A Road From My House To The Sea

On May 5th 2009, Austrian composer Karlheinz Essl and New York-based sound artist Matthew Ostrowski met for a free improvisation concert at ISSUE Project Room in Brooklyn, NY. Although it had been 8 years since their last performance as a duo, the show turned out to be very powerful, each performer complementing the other in ways neither had anticipated. They were so excited about the results of this almost chance encounter that they decided to make the recording available to the world.
This album is dedicated to the memory of Suzanne Fiol (1960-2009), founder of Issue Project Room.
