This time we appear with three great tracks for our first release in 2012.

“Lila” by Danjel Esperanza, who has launched his own labels Meleon Music in 2008 and Backdoor Beauty in 2009, is a organic composition that explores melody and percussion. Accompanied by a warm and smooth touch that is part of all his nice productions.

Florian Dalinger comes up with “REsearch” a pretty cool produced and solid track for the floor. In 2009 came his first release on the Plastic City Mix Compilation Deep Meltdown followed by more releases on Herz ist Trumpf – also as the project Pieper & Dalinger. Since 2011 resident of the Darmstadt Club Level 6 he is responsible for musical support of artists like Tiefschwarz, Matthias Tanzmann, Ata, Luna City Express and more.

Last but not least this EP also includes “Existence (another day)” by our good friend Irie Electric, part of Served Level (with Caecilian) and Apollo Slice (with Brett Knacksen), label owner (together with D Liner) of Circuits Records and Resident at Tresor/Globus. Altogether a lovely person and not only in Berlin a well-known DJane.

Check it out.

Fires Were Shot are an amazing instrumental duo from Texas, United States. Their sound can be categorized as textural, guitar driven ambient music. No-Source Netlabel is excited to debut Fires Were Shot’s long-form single, “Maritime” to the world. Fans of Cheer, talkingmakesnosense, or Brian McBride (of Stars of the Lid) will instantly fall in love with the sound of Fires Were Shot. Maritime, at over twenty eight minutes, takes you on a journey out to sea and back. Field recordings of the ocean are quickly engulfed by layer upon layer of guitar drones, delay and plucking. While out in the waters surrounded by the deep, you find yourself at last. This is melodic acoustic drone that should be held up right next to the very best.

Winners announced: Atari Teenage Riot ‘Collapse of History’ Remix Contest

Wednesday, March 21st, 2012

Atari Teenage Riot
Hi FOEM’ers,
There must be quite a few of you waiting for this posting, so here goes the good news. Alec Empire from Atari Teenage Riot dropped us a line today with a couple of words about the Atari Teenage Riot ‘Collapse of History’ Remix Contest, letting us know how the judging went and who are the final winners. Few of you have spotted the recently released Remixes EP, but don’t worry, the top prize of the competition is even much sweeter!
Here it goes:
“We fought, debated, hated each other, threw molotov cocktails and stones… but finally we have agreed on the winners! You should have seen the DHR office versus DIM MAK office… it was London against Los Angeles and back. Tears, mp3 files thrown around, yes, it was heated…

Finally Steve Aoki and me, Alec Empire, had a long Skype call about it. You may wonder WHY THE WAIT, WHY THE DRAMA? BECAUSE YOU, yes, YOU! SENT IN TOO MANY GOOD REMIXES! :)

Usually these things generate 50 remixes, all pretty much bad and stuff, and 5 are maybe okay or so… but in this case we had over 130 (!!!) – so again THANK YOU ALL for that!!!!!!

That’s an amazing result but made it very hard to judge on. Anyone else who is reading this, please check out ALL remixes, they go from Dubstep, Breakcore, Techno, 80s Synth, 8bit, Reggae (!!!?) to Noise and more… this is what one can do with a song!

So this is what we’re going to do. We have put the official remixes out as an EP first without the single track. You can get those now on all DSPs.

The remix competition winner is going onto the SINGLE release (to really stand out!)
So here are the chosen remixes followed by the very grand winner:

4th place goes to 8 Bit Resurrection

Congrats, you are entitled to a 1-year Lite upgrade for your SoundCloud account.
3rd goes to No One Knows Remix

Congratulations there, you will also be rewarded with a Lite upgrade for your SoundCloud account.
2nd goes to Toshihiro Ogihara HRE Remix

Congrats as well, the Lite upgrade is yours.
And… The winner is !!!!

Tits & Clits Remix

We bow before you, well done. As Alec mentioned, the remix will be released on the Atari Teenage Riot – Collapse of History, the single. Also, our mates from SoundCloud offer you a 1 year upgrade to Pro for your SoundCloud account, while will make you a Pro on their network for one month to blast about your success.
All the lucky winners of this contest, please send us an e-mail to winners[at] with the subject ‘ATR’.

Here’s what the e-mail should include:
- full contact details (your contact number, physical address, SoundCloud account)
- a single zip file containing: your biography/short story about your musical background + a hi-res photo where we can clearly see your face. If you’ve won a label release, please include your winning unmastered remix (specifications: 24 bit 48 khz with minimum 3 db headroom for mastering). All in one zip please!

Congrats for your winning, thank you for your time and looking forward to getting your e-mails in. Have no worries, as all personal data will be handled confidentially.

Great work, guys!

Alec Empire and the FOEM crew
This contest is supported by:

After no less than 5 months polishing this gem, the Progrezo Records family is back with the long awaited release from Polish’ artist, Lukasz Napora, who has long been associated with the electronic music industry as active journalist for various media outlets over more than 10 years.

Along with his brother, he used to run one of Poland’s most prestigious music sites called Sound Revolt, which due to its bilingualism was a great contact point between the local scene and foreign labels and artists, bringing him a wide experience and respect within the electronic music movement.

Today, he is mainly recognized for his work at Audioriver one of the World’s top summer festivals according to Resident Advisor. He’s the spokesperson, marketing director and is co-responsible for the program of this event. You can also hear him every Thursday on Polish Radio 4 where he presents two hours of his music selection. It’s safe to say that this show is currently one of Poland’s most popular underground dance music broadcasts.

Over the years Lukasz has interviewed a vast scope of artists from Hernan Cattaneo, Timo Maas, Richie Hawtin, Luciano, Dubfire, James Holden, Moderat, DJ Hell through Tiesto, Fedde Le Grand, Sebastian Ingrosso, Kosheen, Groove Armada to Sepultura, Alice In Chains, Rammstein, Editors, Alan Wilder, Yeasayer and White Lies. This diversity reflects his taste in music broad and practically without borders. He loves surprising his audience so be sure not to expect anything from his upcoming productions.

As producer, Lukasz’s second release shows his lyrics potential with “Lone Song”, as result of over 10 years of unstoppable work since when he used to sing in a nu metal band, but nevertheless, the rock influences are quiet still present on his music especially as it song proves.

The whole track was written and produced by Lukasz. This goes to the lyrics as well. The songs is about a lonely girl who’s dreaming about a guy she met very briefly saw him in an elevator, met him at a party. The twist is Lukasz is singing from the girls perspective.

With suggestive atmosphere and defined by Lukasz as electro-acoustic with a clubby feel but without intend to make it work in clubs, “Lone Song ‘has an unstoppable pace with hypnotic guitar-riff surrounded by Lukasz imposing voice as perfect match between rhythm and ambiance. Lukasz bring a majestic union in an unforgettable song.

As known by his prolific and outstanding productions at top of the iceberg with massive support within the finest electronic music in the last years, including imprints the likes of Balance, Lank delivers an overwhelming version by stomped tech-beats surrounded by huge precision with the original voice and synth. Peter brings a sophisticated environment with high quality tech-progressive spirit aimed straight to the dance-floor. A top notch interpretation that surely will round top DJ cases.

Next on the list, rising talent Daniel Mehes (Hungary), known by his massive releases and remixes including Kazell, Keff Bennett, Home Video and Darko Esser, delivers a stomped techno interpretation with trippy atmospheric style, bringing unstoppable pace for big-rooms and to serious electronic music researchers. Here Daniel reveals a mad journey of avant-garde techno mood already tested on modern dance-floors with class of attitude to break the night.

Leo Leite (Brazil) known by his important collaborations as sound engineer including Sasha’s Invol2ver cdmix, Leo features a groovy-house mix using by kind of creativity and precision the original synth and lyrics, in addition to his solid bass-line, becoming it in a precious pearl in any and every DJ set. A class mix aimed straight for open sky parties and club times.

Spanish duo Akasoundsite who has gained respect and an army of followers within the music industry by its releases at top of charts including Beatport, besides massive support from top DJ names, delivers an impeccable dub techno mix with solid beat for peak-time sets. Using the original synth in addition to Akasoundsite’ ace tools, the Spanish duo brings a magic key to let the night take a memorable breath.

An On Bast the pseudonym of Anna Suda, a Polish electronic producer whose music dots the ‘i’s and crosses the ‘t’s but gives a little more sonic interest thanks to an investigative approach to production. Her music ranges from expertly crafted meditative moments of sublime electronic bliss, to dance floor friendly oddities, bringing her the honest maturity to produce electronic music already supported by Luciano, Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Jeff Milligan, Konrad Black, Alexi Delano, Stephan Bodzin and Paco Osuna among many more. Ana’s mix is crisp and solid as production, becoming a essential tool in tech-house classy DJ sets.

With the culture influence that Berlin could bring, Audiofetish (Germany) has been involved within electronic music since very young, not only dancing in some of the most commented clubs around the world, but listening and following to bands the likes of Depeche Mode among others. Nowadays, his music potential gave him the enough maturity to remix RMB, Circlesqaure, Bomb the Bass, Dapayk & Padberg, Thievery Corporation, Boris Brejcha, Robert Babicz and Audio Soul Project. His creativity and fresh proposal have been the key to reach the next level of production.

Closing this unforgettable package, French young talent Darkko, produces cinematic landscapes in his productions, often inspired by acoustic sounds surrounded with evolving voices. Already featured in Progrezo Records with a solid ep, as well as mentioned within the Home Video’ world remix runners with support from FOEM and SoundCloud, Darkko is back with a huge and futurist break-beat interpretation, inspired in the Lukasz’ voice along with his own touch, he delivers a master-piece version for electronic music lovers as unforgettable piece is.
