Some things are more complex than they seem at first glance, and to fully explain them it is sometimes difficult, therefore, far better to explain them in parts. Armed still had fantasy to distil and proof of that is this “Destilado de Nuestra Imaginación”, homogeneous extension of the first concept “Mi Cabeza Está Llena de Fantasía”.

“Cyberdelian Symphony of Ages“ opens this LP as a look back over the years of the Andalusian producer. Cyberdelic psychedelia in breaks mode, always marking a personal melodic load.

“South Nocum“ is one of those songs that emerge from a few simple chords on a night of insomnia and does not get completed until, after more than a year and many mutations, founds its final form and ends becoming one of the strongest convictions of the author. Emotional notes accompanying the rythms that introduce them until melodic pads raise the song.

“SDMV“ begins without hiding anything of what may happen later; forcefulness and depth for the third original track, where different sonorous textures are mixed, meaning the Armed version of what might be mental techno, dance for thought.

With “Legendary Song” ends the first part of the album and is presented under the label of I.D.M., electronic or neotrance, the taste that makes this track is certainly special.

Biconnection are the authors of the beginning of the second part of “Mi Cabeza Está Llena de Fantasía“. His arpeggios and translations of the original melodies made their unmistakable style also ??in this version.

Frances Lerouge gives us a more focused on the dance floor track in his “Bicos & Apertas Mix” of “South Nocum”, a relaxed and beautiful tune, which also contributes with its two cents in the variety of styles of the LP.

David Inexacte debuts in Rawmatroid with a reinterpretation of “SDMV”, with a personal set of reverbs in percussions travelling on multiple depths hand in hand with slowed melodies creating it’s own soundscape and wonderfully deep.

Lefrenk take charge of placing an end to this reference, preserving the ideas and feelings of original “Legendary Song“, and adding forcefulness, rhythm and his fine identity to the mix.

This is our way to present you this new netlabel LP, our 14th release in Rawmatroid Club, a work full of personality, emotion and painted with a variety of colors through the vision of 5 different artists.

A bird is different from a elephant. So is a octopus from a wolverine. Species tells the difference apart from animals and insects alike, but there are similarities that persists throughout the animal kingdom. Take the eyes for instance. Have you ever seen a person or animal with only one eye? No, every living organism has two or more eyes, four extremities, one mouth, and two ears. You see, every animal on this earth, even though looks and acts differently, has similarities. This is the concept of Telegraphy’s “Species” album. Every sound is reminiscent from the previous but is eerily distinctive, just like two or more eyes and so on.

“Species” by Telegraphy, is a slow dub techno, minimal/ambient album. These beat-less tracks, transports us to a world where unknown lifeforms dwell. Unknown but not different from us. All of the tracks titles in this album, your probably wondering, sound kind of strange or desolate, thats because they are names of undiscovered species. No, you won’t find then in any scientific journal any time soon. These species are not from this earth, they are names of alien beings. Greys, Reptilians, Mothman, call them what you will. They all have two eyes, two arms, and two feet. Just like us, different but the same. “Species” by Telegraphy, different but the same.

No-Source is pleased to ring in the New Year and embrace 2012 with a release from Mark Ge. Mark Ge is a musician and writer from the North-Eastern United States. His first EP includes a collection of lo-fi bedroom recordings and one studio recording. Most of “Your Blues Are Rough” is just Mark Ge singing and playing guitar. The lo-fi quality really brings the listener and these tracks to a more intimate setting. “Brother” and “The Other Side” share a similar aural joy found in early tape recordings from the Mountain Goats. “Stephanie” on the other hand is eerily similar to Casiotone For The Painfully Alone with drum machine and simple synth melodies. “The Road”, the only studio recording on this release, sees a more polished sound and additional instrumentation from Mark. Additional production on tracks 1-3,5-6 by Tim Dwyer.

Our 48th release comes from Strom Noir (Hibernate, Resting Bell, Ambsine) and is titled “Music for the Succulents“. The ep consists of 3 tracks created mainly using loop pedals and acoustic guitars, although the last track “Desert in bloom” brings some gently distorted tunes made by its electric sister.

His follow-up to the earlier released album “Music” is called “Guide”. The eight tracks are 3 minutes long, the classical radio hit length. The music is very dense. Starting with very distorted, thick and layered sounds shifting to a clear and calmer atmosphere in the end. All pieces are rather short in the field of ambient or drone music but Saito filled the pieces with an enormous richness and concentration. Overtones are swirling around in your head, layer over layer of crackling noise is added to a this warm blanket of sounds.

Have a nice start in 2012 and farewell to a wonderfull 2011.

“Complaintes de marée basse” by Diatribes & Abdul Moimême reworked by Blindhæð, Nicolas Bernier, Honoré Feraille, Ludger Hennig, Mokuhen, Francisco López & Herzog.

A compilation always looks nice as project, to join together people around one idea or thematic, it has also this obvious promotionnal aspect and purpose. In the present case, starting from the will to establish a collaboration between and “improv” label (Insubordinations) and an “electronic” one (Tsuku Tsuku Grammofon) we agreed on the concept of reworking one of the diatribes’s albums.
Then what about the result ? What is its interest ?
At the end we have in our hands a journey into electroacoustic music, colored by the acoustic and improvised energy of “complainte de marée basse”. It is pretty curious to ear how each musicians used the original material with very different concerns, according to their own usual practice. Some use them as “field recording”, others work with sorts of “dub” remixing technics, some turned totally the sounds into their worlds without any attempt to keep a trace of the sources. And none of this sounds wrong, but in every case establishe dialogs between the reworks and originals, showing each time another vision of the role or value of “recorded sound”.

Leonardo Rosado’s main musical focus explores the collision between sound, poetry and everyday life by using automatic expressions what he likes to call – word/soundscapes. The construction of his music pieces expose daily life happenings that are individual and at the same time universal: it has a strong sense of suggesting a pause to think about our actions and our surroundings. Words and sounds have different meanings, depending on the listener, but only if s/he takes some time to delve into the complexity of his or her own stimuli.

Taken from the Opaque Glitter sessions the ep Soaking Wet is a short story of lovers missing encounters, living in cheap hotels and empty coffee houses, on a wet rainy day.

It was a time not unlike now. A time where darkness and corruption reigned. The situation looked dire. Justice was required. Then during the dark of night a Hero was born. As time passed the Hero wandered into the wilderness alone. On his journey he came to know who he was and where he was to go, and that he was in fact not alone, for his Father’s guiding spirit was always with him.

The Hero, now a man, found his way to a dusty town, a town called Hopefound. Here the darkness had corrupted the streets and blinded the hearts of women and men. Where there once was virtue and righteousness, now there was only perversion and tyranny that covered the town in its thick dark veil. The Light that first set life into motion and brought reality into sight was nowhere being sought. But now as our Hero’s searching light lit up the dark streets it was made known that there was a new sheriff in town. The Hero donned his star-shaped badge and set forth to free the darkened souls who once knew the joy and truth of the Light. Everyone was in need of his saving grace, the good, the bad and the ugly. They were being released from the bonds of their self-destructive ways, their selfish deeds and the lies of the Enemy. Yes even those poor souls were being recued who thought too highly of themselves and those who had been left outside with no hope, forsaken by the rest of them. They were getting their true identity back.

The next day came as the Hero approached the town center. As he stopped for a moment’s rest he was beset by the Corrupt Major’s hired gang of bandits, thugs and thiefs, encircled from every side. The sun now sat at highnoon. A showdown was about to take place, a showdown that would decide everyone’s fate. The bandits had taken hostage all those poor souls who were out there in the streets, holding up before the Hero their past offences and evil deeds. The Major reckoned to the Righteous Judge, who had also appeared among them, that they were to be his, as their vile deeds where not much different from the very likes of his. The Judge considered his plea but said that it was high time that the records be set straight and that the Mayor’s own time would also soon come. The Hero called out for a ransom to be given, to pay the debt for the peoples’ due retribution. The Judge then reckoned that only good could right this evil for Justice required that the balance between right and wrong be equal. It was said, the Hero’s life in exchange for those who were held captive so that his righteousness might clear their name.

The Hero took the call and laid down his life for all, for he knew who they were and were they were to go, yes even those who had forsaken him. As the day’s end slowly drew near and the rescued ran joyous and free, those who were there were sure they could see the silhouette of the Hero in the far distance, riding away into the sunset.

“Another Setting Sun” is the final album from Second Thought, the previous recording name of UK musician Ross Baker. This album is the coda to a quintilogy of full length albums released between 2004 and 2011. Music of Second Thought has always stayed close to the concept of dream-like travel, troubled wordless travel, and organic journeys. For those familiar with Second Thoughts output, the sound of “Another Setting Sun” fall directly between “Purlieu” and “Leaf Pass”. This makes sense seeing that much of the music here was originally recorded before “Purlieu” and finished around the same time as “Leaf Pass”. The result is a varied array of moods, paths, and instrumental sounds. Each track is linked together with field recordings, bird sounds, and spoken word snippets. Layered above, is reverberated synths, classical piano, and subdued electronic rhythms. It is equal parts beautiful, ambient, and experimental. A fitting tale of warm endings and new beginnings.

‘Another Setting Sun’ is a history of my music from the earliest days of Second Thought through to the present. All tracks here are previously unheard, or have been unavailable for the best part of a decade. I hope you enjoy the album as much as I enjoyed putting it together and reliving all of these memories. You find your self in a elusive garden late on a mid-summers night. The bright full moon light strains through the heavy canopy above only to illuminate the lush array of plants below. Exploring the grounds with ancient statuses of mythical gods partially covered with Morning Glory vines, you study the beautiful flowers of this curious plant. Feeling around, a few seeds drop into your hands. With no hesitation you ingest the hand full of seeds. The journey begins.

Telegraphy paints or as evident of the cover art, draws a picture of ones journey. This four track album takes consciousness textures, feeling, and thoughts from that mid-summers journey.

Filled with distant synths and ambient field recordings. The separation between these sounds and one’s consciousness is reminiscent of what one goes through in this situation. With common Telegraphy style, rhythmic micro samples are applied with mind altering speed. The last track “Midnight” is a live 37 minute set. With sounds of shortwave provided by vintage vacuum tube electronics, this minimal / ambient / noise set is a continuation of ionosonde’s favorite releases “Somewhere in Detroit”.

The project Mono:Pulse was initiated by two artists who derived their musical influences in different areas of electronic music. Far from practical function, they are going for a whole different way of getting the message across: Music as an organic experience and a living atmosphere.

The downbeat project buried themselves inside their studios in the beginning of 2011 for this journey of no genre boundaries through the world of electronic music. The multiple different places of production are yet another element of the organic matter of this album.

In their as a process understood work, diversity has a double emphasis put on it. In that way they achieved mixtures from synthetic and musical-acoustical sounds in a variety of depths with its origins as far spread as Jazz, HipHop, Dubstep and Techno. Intensity, expressionism as well as the contrast of energy and indulgence are some of the characteristics of these two artists.

“Proxima Centauri remixed” is a classic remix EP. The artists we have invited to cooperate with us on this EP were chosen not only because we hold their work in high praise, but also for their diversity of styles, and their distinct approaches to production. The result is this six-track EP: the title track, Proxima Centauri, welcomes the listener into the mysterious world of B.R.O. The following four remixes have been made by Remy LBO, a multi-instrumentalist form California, who has already recorded 3 albums, Graham O’Brien, the drummer of No Bird Sing (his cooperations include Eyedea, Kristoff Krane, Carnage, Alicia Wiley), Graf Cratedigger, a rapper, producer and a radio show host in RadioRewers.pl, and W?adys?aw Gudonis Komendarek, composer, musician and arranger, ex-member of legendary bands Exodus and Grupa Dominika/Czerwone Gitary. He has recorded over 30 albums (solo and with a band), that have been released by such labels as Polskie Nagrania or Metal Mind Prod. The EP is concluded and completed by the newest creation of our duo, Alpha Centauri, featuring Emilia Osik.

Project B.R.O. was founded in 2008, by two cousins Konrad and Jakub Zamojski. They’ve been into music from a very early age, they started producing when they were both 12 years old. B.R.O. is a synthesis of many styles, ideas and inspirations that have been with them for many years. In 2008 they released their first EP; “Etudes” was a self-released compilation of 6 etudes composed entirely of samples from old Polish Jazz records. This “right of passage” for the brothers has never been officially released. Their next EP – “Analog People In a Digital World” has been recognized by Kris Klubo, the head of London-based Noecho Records label, who decided to release it in August of 2010. Unlike their debut, “APIDW” is full of rich arrangements and innovative ideas, which allowed the sound only hinted at in their previous productions to bloom into masterful creations. The compositions themselves are based on original samples of live instruments (drums, saxophone, piano, accordion).

December starts with a new release by Saito Koji. He worked with labels like Kokeshidisk, Somehow Recordings, SEM , taâlem, Magic Book Records, Kesh Recordings and Gears of Sand Recordings. And he already did four previous releases via Resting Bell.

His new release “Music” is a 5-track album with a complete duration of 70 minutes. Two 20-minute pieces are framing three 10-minute tracks full of tender and dense drone-music. Matching with the starting winter season in the northern hemisphere, Saito comes up with these wonderful warming sounds, wrapping you up like a cosy blanket.
