[RRR195] Chad Golda – Book of Songs Vol.1
Chad Golda has been on one intriguing and varied journey in recent times. Stemming from his campfire strumming days in starstarstar, to his experimental sensory leanings of latter day solo excapades.
Book of Songs [Volume One] is almost a journey back to where this Rack & Ruin adventure started, but a journey made by someone wiser by the year[s], and with a knowledge of what the future may hold.
Musically Chad has been on as exhilirating a ride as his geographic travels from US city to US city. Like a latter day minstel, this traveller has returned to his roots in more than one sense. Recorded in Colorado, this is early psych folk which fits perfectly to this winter month.
It isn’t all dark and bleak though. In fact, a lot of this album is very warm, upbeat, not quite hitting the realms of poppy – but certainly uplifting – some tracks have tints of country, some tracks have tints of Microphones / Mount Eerie style leanings, but all tracks have that special Golda uniqueness.
